Humane Education : Outreach & Awareness

When man learns to understand and control his own behaviour as well as he is learning to understand and control the behavior of crop plants and domestic animals, he may be justified in believing that he has become civilized.

SPCA Visits Schools, kindergartens, colleges & offices! SPCA staff are frequently invited to give educational talks or conduct animal-welfare related activities. In November, SPCA gave a 30-minute talk to the 6th Graders of the International School of Kuala Lumpur on the 6 Pillars of SPCA Selangor, highlighting that kids can help the animals in many ways too! The 12-year-olds had many questions on issues such as adoption, stray animals and euthanasia. Click to read the kids positive and encouraging blog responses to the talk at isklrewired.blogspot.com! In January, our Education Officer Jacinta visited the Customs Department in Nilai to present a talk to the officers of the Royal Malaysian Customs, and received an enthusiastic response from the officers! We have also conducted educational talks at HELP University College, Taylor's College, Sri KL Pre-School & Primary School, St.John's Ambulance District Level, SMK Kepong Baru, Tadika Aliran Ceria, Chung Hwa Independent School, Global Indian School, SMK Catholic High, Taman Kinrara & Bandar Kinrara Kindergarten, UiTM Shah Alam & SRK Bkt Damansara.
